It would be really beneficial to know how many of our emails are actually being opened and read. This is not a read receipt that the recipient would have to agree to, but something the software automatically produces. There are other software out there that show admins when emails have been opened/read (i.e. Frontrush, Whentowork).

Would adding this option be something that others could benefit from? Any other ideas thoughts?

Great timing on this post! We actually just sent our latest update email using MailChimp for the first time and it was an awesome experience. Literally at that point I decide to make it one of our top priorities to completely overhaul the message center.

Goals:

Easily build campaign lists (we have a ton of options currently, but it doesn't seem to be intuitive enough for first time users)

Easy email templates and drafts (We've already begun working on this, but after checking out mail chimp I want to add even more to it!)

Track results

Opens; Email, On Site, REC*IT App, Text (not sure if text is possible)

Anyway look for this overhaul coming early next semester. We're still investigating some things from a development perspective, but we are excited to get this overhaul on the site!

This also takes away the "oh, I never got an e-mail about that" excuse that happens all too frequently.

IMLeagues is a great way to get information out, but I'm never sure if it is working...

I get the sense that few of our students actually access the website but tend to use REC*IT. Data to see if that is truly the case would be helpful.
