We are looking to purchase some new vests/pinnies, particularly for flag football and soccer. The pinnies we have used in the past sometimes do not make it more than a season or two because they are ripped apart (hence, a lot of holding penalties are called). Does any other institutions have recommendations on brands or places to buy more dependable pinnies? In the past, we have bought the lightweight scrimmage vests (numbered) from BSN Sports. I want to invest in something with some thicker fabric, and if possible, with the bottom seam above the waist, in hopes that it won't interfere with any defenders attempting to pull flag belts. If you have any recommendations, please send them our way. Thanks!

@Thompson We do that as well. Since students are already assessed a student activities fee with their yearly fees, tuition, and room & board, we figure they are not willing to pay to play. So, we do not charge for intramural seasons (other than our bi-annual golf tournaments, to assist with costs), or single day events and/or programs. We can also present before our SGA to petition for additional funds if necessary, but that may only happen once a year for a big project or new equipment like soccer goals or something of that nature, which could be quite expensive. The Vice Chancellor over our department is really good about giving us financial resources if we need it, but we rarely ask and try to keep everything "in house" for the most part.

If your school uses the custom score sheets from IMLeagues, is there a function that would allow team logos to appear on those sheets above their name?

For example, a lot of our teams have a logo on their team page. Would it be possible in the future to have their team logo/image converted onto the scoresheet somehow, if it doesn't exist already? That is probably a question for the gentlemen from IMLeagues to answer about potentially incorporating that idea if there would be enough interest from other schools I suppose.

    Thanks for any input...

@davis Devin, as of now, UVa-Wise utilizes both paper and an iPad. This is due to the cell service in some areas. We do not currently have WiFi at any of our fields, so we opted to purchase a departmental WiFi "jetpack." At our outdoor facilities, it has worked wonders, with the ease of keeping stats in real time and limits the number of students I would need to hire to be the office to do tasks such as inputting the scores the next day. Unfortunately, for our recreational gym, they had to remove the WiFi during our recent renovation of the gym last year, and they have neglected to reinstall it, which is something we are attempting to get completed as soon as possible. The cell service in that gym is not good at all and although our jetpack would work to add members to rosters, keeping stats is impossible for certain sports, especially basketball due to the fast paced game play. So for right now, we are keeping stats on paper for basketball and indoor soccer. Once we return back outdoors, we will go back to utilizing the mobile solutions.

I think this is a fantastic idea! Most of the time when I would like to get some outside knowledge from different colleagues, I would either have to pick up the phone to call multiple people, or visit NIRSA's discussion boards. This makes most information all inclusive in one place for everyone to discuss. Good job guys...
