I am a GA for Intramurals at my current institution, and I was curious to see if any other schools have used a flat fee for participants to play in all of intramurals as opposed to a team fee for each team that signs up.

I am curious, as we have had roughly 650 total teams sign up, with 2700 participants overall. If the team fee is $30, and the potential participant fee was $10, we would generate more revenue for our program (this is not the objective of our program by any means). Also, students could potentially be encouraged to participate in more sports as they have already paid.

Any thoughts? Has anyone done this type of payment structure?
