Does anyone use the Elam Ending for their Intramural Basketball leagues?

We are actually surveying our past participants on if they would want to change to the Elam Ending for our 5x5 League in the winter. Depending on the results of the survey, we may change all divisions to Elam Ending or some of the divisions to Elam and keep some with traditional rules.
If any schools have already tried this, I would love to hear how it went.

I have floated the idea of using the Elam Ending before as well, so Im quite interested to see how students would feel about it. In a campus rec scenario in particular, eliminating late game fouling seems like it could be a really nice product of using the Elam ending. Explaining it initially, probably a little tougher, but maybe worth it?

I have thought about implementing this in our upcoming league in the Spring semester. My initial thoughts based on our rules would be it would go in effect at either the 1-minute or 2-minute mark of the second half. Not sure if I would put a +10 to the score or shorten it to like a +5 or +8. I would still keep in effect the sportsmanship rules if any are currently in place to keep the clock running or end the game after game has reached a 20-30 point spread.
I would be interested in hearing other thoughts. I think we are going to do it no matter what and experiment with it since my leagues will be small anyways. Might test it out in our upcoming 3v3 League as an experiment toward the end of the league play.

We've found from surveying our current and past participants that they prefer more of a college basketball experience, therefore, rather than impose the Elam Ending, we've made efforts to promote gameplay and regulation as the NCAA student-athletes would experience it allowing our participants to experience playing college basketball without having that high level of competition. This is proven to increase participation and the competitive spirit among players.

Thank you everyone for the responses. I just put a poll out to my participants and many of our students do not want this ending. They are very confused, since many think the team winning get an automatic 7 points. So looks like we probably will not be adding this element into our league this year. Probably will need to find a way to educate the students regarding this before we would implement it in league play.
